Just got back from a weekend of excellent diving in Indonesian waters. We were on a liveaboard, White Manta, that departed from Singapore. 2 days of diving, 6 dives. After a checkout dive, we did 2 dives on the Seven Skies (800ft+ Swedish supertanker sank in the 1960s). These were multilevel as the bottom is around 200ft+ and the smokestack is in about 75ft. You won't believe what we saw on the Seven Skies... see the link below.
http://homepage.mac.com/claesodman/iMovieTheater11.html We later did 1 shallow night dive and next day did 2 dives on a 500ft+ iron ore cargo ship called the Igara. The Igara is also multilevel as the bottom is in about 130ft+ and the top is in 55ft or so of water. We had a group of maybe 15 DIR divers at various levels as well as perhaps 10 other divers on board. Once again, diving with other DIR folks really contributed to the safety and peace of mind, and of course the fun of the trip. I am now in Singapore airport waiting for my flight back to Chicago. Back on Wednesday and off to High Springs for some cave diving on Thursday! Good diving, Terence |
