North East Underwater Explorers is a group of divers and Instructors with three objectives:

    * To explore the waters of the North Eastern United States for new and challenging dive sites
    * To increase diver safety and enjoyment in the North East
    * We organize Technical and Recreational Diving activities in the North East, surrounding areas and beyond

We promote team diving and ongoing training as safety tools. The group has an open door attitude for those interested in DIR/GUE Recreational and Technical diving: a mentor program, continuing education, advice and activities designed to advance personal learning through experience.

Registration and Profile 

NEUE does not allow any anonymous registration or posting!

It is required that your username be a reasonable variant of your real given and surname, (eg: John S, JohnSmith, J_Smith, J Smith, etc...), and that you provide your full real name during registration when asked.  Furthermore, you must complete your profile and keep it up to date, including dive cetifications and experience, city & state of residence.

Posting and Site Content

While the administrators and moderators of NEUE will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. This includes posts directed at another individual or group on or off the NEUE site. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

If you are providing an "expert" analysis or evaltion, please include your professional avocation in your profile and/or post signature. While everyone is entitiled to an opinion and encouraged to participate in discussions, it is important to recognise information from an experienced professional (eg. M.D., Ph.D.) versus information from a layperson, regardless of how educated and experienced one might be.

Please use an accurate subject line and introduction (where appropiate) that accurately reflects the topic. Do not leave the subjec tline blank.

Please do not initiate or participate in any arguments. Responsible debate based on logic (versus emotion) is acceptable.

"Wanting to Buy" and "Looking to Sell"

Soliciting or advertising of equipment is not permitted on the NEUE site; the "Wanting to Buy" and "Looking to Sell" forums are provided to allow members to trade gear.

NEUE is a site to promote DIR/GUE diving and as such we do not encourage the sale of equipment that is not GUE compliant.  Posts advertising non-compliant equipment may be removed at the whim of the administrators and moderators; please do not use this site as a dumping ground for all the old, unused gear you have in the garage that does not meant this standard.

As a condition of buying and selling items listed in any forum of NEUE, Buyer and Seller agree that NEUE is not brokering or otherwise participating in any purchase or sale. NEUE has no knowledge of the terms of sale, the condition of any items offered for sale, the accuracy of any aspect of the sale or the use to which any item shall be put. Buyer assumes all responsibility for proper use of any item so purchased. Buyer acknowledges that improper use of some or all of the items offered for sale on NEUE may cause serious injury or death. Buyer further acknowledges that scuba diving, particularly technical scuba diving, carries with it a risk of serious injury or death that may not be avoided, even if the items purchased on NEUE are used properly. Buyer shall seek qualified assistance and instruction in the use of all items purchased.

Members should keep the status of any "Wanting to Buy" or  "Looking to Sell" posts up to date with a current status of the transaction.

For all transactions completed on NEUE, both parties will be required to post a feedback response within the thread pertaining to the transaction. Any discussion about feedback is limited to the 2 parties involved. Any feedback discussion from non-involved members will be deleted and accounts locked or removed.
Members that appear to be using NEUE solely as a marketplace to try and unload gear, or to solicit a deal on every little item they desire; run a very real risk of their accounts being suspended and terminated at the whim of the administrators and moderators of NEUE.
